Outside Lands 2013 announces its lineup

Last week, the much awaited lineup for Outside Lands was announced for this summer, to everyone’s excitement. The headliners for the festival include Paul McCartney, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nine Inch Nails; not much of a surprise considering the concert’s history of bringing some of the biggest names in rock ‘n roll. Other bands that are performing during the weekend will be Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Mat & Kim, and many, many more artists and bands.

Last year Outside Lands headlined music legends Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, and Metallica, as well as 90’s rock icons Beck and the Foo Fighters. Contemporary artists for the concert’s younger attendees included Shrillex, Santigold, Franz Ferdinand and money others.

Other groups and artists the festival has featured include Muse, Phish, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, Tom Petty, and many other music greats since it’s inaugural festival kicked off in 2008.

Outside Lands is not only famed for the musicians it hosts (although that is definitely the biggest attraction), but also hosts tents from the Bay’s best eateries, a comedy lineup, and many booths and contests where people can win prizes.

The 3-day music festival is to take place from Aug. 9 to 11 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Tickets went on sale last week, and are sure to run out soon–so be sure to purchase them in advance so you won’t be left out! It surely will be a weekend to remember.
