The Diablo Valley College Horticulture Department is holding their semi-annual plant sale on April 10 and 11. There will be an abundance of plants for Spring gardening needs.

The DVC garden is open for all students. The adaptive horticulture class taught by Karin Tolbot are in the garden during its open hours of 9a.m.-11:30a.m. every Friday.

The garden is located by the tennis courts, next to parking lot 9.

The plant sale is put together each semester by horticulture students and professors and the proceeds go to funding the department.

Unlike last semester, the greenhouse is now flourishing. Even though the Horticulture Department has added more courses this semester, classes fill up rather quickly.

Plant production professor Michelle Eyestone said the Horticulture Club is not just for horticulture students but for everybody.

“What’s beautiful about horticulture is it’s a huge umbrella for any number of disciplines,” Eyestone said.

Horticulture Club President Jonathon Mcdonald, 33, said, “We are all working diligently on these up coming plant sales which require so much unseen planning as we get close to the deadlines.”

More information can be found at the Horticulture Club’s weekly meetings every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
