ASDVC board members attending its general meeting on March 7 in Student Union.
Though general election to elect officers of Associated Students of Diablo Valley College for 2017-2018 is coming up on April 19, ASDVC removed its officer in its board meeting on March 7.
Environmental Affairs Officer, Sejin Han, was the subject of removal due to lack of attendance. According to ASDVC Bylaws, any board members “shall be allowed three unexcused absences per semester,” and Bowen (Chris) Liu, the president of ASDVC, said that Han already had three absences this semester. Han was absent the meeting, too, and majority of his fellow members agreed to remove him from board members.
According to Liu, another officer Secretary Tiangan (Allen) also has three absences, so that he will be a subject of removal next week.
In the end of the meeting, they had the first nomination for general election this semester. In the general election, DVC students will elect ASDVC president and executive officers. There are 10 positions for the election, and nominees are following:
