Dr. Claude Steele, author of “Whistling Vivaldi” is coming to Diablo Valley College by means of video conference on in the Library room 151 on Wednesday, April 27, 1 and 3.

He discusses the negative effect of stereotypes in the book, which has inspired a project of the same name at DVC.

“I am thrilled and excited, talking to him will be a great culmination of all the work we have done this year,” said staff development coordinator Lisa Orta, who headed the project.

Steele agreed to speak at the college after taking notice of the project and DVC’s work with narrowing the achievement gap.

Fifty seats are available and students can contact Orta for tickets. For more information, go to the Whistling Vivaldi home page at: http://www.dvc.edu/events/events/whistlingvivaldi.htm.
