Diablo Valley College’s football team lost their final game of the season 33-17 to College of San Mateo Bulldogs on Nov. 12.

Both teams had the ball for nearly the same amount of time, but the Bulldogs did a lot more with the time they had than the Vikings did.

The Vikings 144 passing yards, 111 rushing yards and two touch downs weren’t enough to keep up with the Bulldogs.

San Mateo got the first lead of the game and DVC was down 14-0 until wide receiver Ryan Anderson caught a 46 yard pass completion from quarter back Gary Chapeta and scored with 6:53 left in the first quarter.

Running back Desmond Nisby’s six yard run into the end zone early in the third quarter was DVC’s next and final touchdown of the game.

Manny Lopez’s 21 yard kick at the beginning of the fourth quarter left the Vikings down 24-17 with 11:36 to come back, but they did not score again.

The game ended with a safety and the final Bulldog touchdown with 0:28 left in the fourth quarter.

DVC has concluded their regular season with a 5-5 overall record and a 1-4 conference record.

The Vikings lost their season opener 23-20 against American River College on Sep. 2 at home. They won their next four games and had a 4-1 record until it came time to play their conference.

DVC lost their first conference game of the season 49-7 to City College of San Francisco at home. They went on to lose three of their next four games.
